Preservation Louisville will announce Louisville's 2010 Top Ten Endangered Properties List & Top Ten Preservation Successes at a press conference on May 27th at 10:30 am in front of Patrick O'Shea's, 123 W. Main St. Come and celebrate National Preservation Month and do your part and support Preservation Louisville.

Preservation Louisville, Inc., will host a Local Authors Book Fair on Saturday, December 12 featuring several local authors specializing in preservation, history and architecture.

This workshop is an easy way to get started or enhance your current personal and family history preservation methods.  The purpose of the Self Preservation-101 is to come and learn about new and different preservation methods for saving your personal & family history!

At Self Preservation – 101 you will:
1.  Invest 3 hours and $30.00.
2.  Learn how to preserve your important family
memories through a combination of documentation
and photograph archiving techniques.

3.  Take home your own “My LifeStory Notebook”,
filled with easy to use forms that will help you begin preserving your personal and family history.

This is a hands-on, active learning workshop

Preserving Louisville’s Past, Present & Future

Preservation Louisville is co-sponsoring a Preservation Month Event with the Louisville Historical League called “Preserving Louisville’s Past, Present & Future”. This event will begin with a lecture featuring speakers from Louisville’s preservation past as well as speakers like Marianne Zickuhr, Executive Director of Preservation Louisville and Bob Griffith, President of the Board, Preservation Louisville to talk about the present and future of preservation in Louisville. Attendees will enjoy refreshments and self guided tour of The Brennan House Historic Home.

Sunday, May 17th at 2pm at The Brennan House Historic Home, 631 S. 5th St., admission is $6 or for Louisville Historical League members & Preservation Louisville members we ask a contribution $5.

Caring for your Antiques

Preservation Louisville is co-sponsoring a Preservation Month Program with Historic Locust Grove called "Caring for your Antiques" with featured speaker Lynn Renau.

May 30th from 10am-1pm we are co-sponsoring a program with Locust Grove called "Caring for your Antiques" it will be at Locust Grove.  Registration is $10 in advance and $15 the day of, to register call Locust Grove 897-9845.

Learn how to preserve your treasured antiques and heirlooms in this informative workshop.  Instructor Lynn Renau will discuss handling and storage methods, and will have examples of antiques which have been poorly and properly maintained.  Participants are encouraged to bring an item with them for personalized advice on how to care for it. (Please contain any active problems in a plastic bag)
 
About the instructor:
Lynn Renau, a local historian and author, has worked at the Filson Historical Society and is a former curator at the Kentucky Derby Museum.  Her latest book is So Close from Home: The Legacy of Brownsboro Road.

How to Sell a Historic Home

Preservation Louisville is co-sponsoring a Preservation Month Program with Greater Louisville Area Realtors. On Wednesday, May 27th Preservation Louisville will host a course is called "How to Sell a Historic Home".

This course is open to the public for anyone who is interested in selling a Historic property. Registration is $15 in advance and $20 the day of the program, you can register by email to director@preservationlouisville.org or calling 502.540.5146.

This course is approved by GLAR and KREC for 3 hours of Continuing Education Credit. If you are a realtor you and would like to receive continuing education credit, please register online through GLAR.
